My first ever photo competition, and it's the Canon Photomarathon so I thought it's kind of a big deal. And it was huge! Over 1600 participants. 1704 to be exact. Can count if you want.

I was there at 7.30am. Too bad my friends could not register in time so this time round I was solo warrior, armed with my Canon 550D and two lenses.
This was how the competition was laid out. At 9am, the first theme was announced and we all had 3 hours to take shots relating to the theme and download and submit our best shot. Then at 12pm and 3pm, they released the 2nd and 3rd themes respectively and the cycle repeated itself.
The first theme was announced at 9.05am: Clarity.
This was my submitted shot. I love it.
Inner clarity.Second theme released at 12.05pm: Faith.
Fear Not, For I Am With You.Another shot that I would have submitted, but I thought it would be too common among other submissions.
Prayer3.05pm Third theme: Charge!
Racked my brains on this one. Ok not really, just tired from all the travelling for the first two shots. I decided to laze around at the Convention Centre lobby and sat down at the reception counter and took this shot.
Forgot the charger? Fret not, use the wireless charger.
Although I did not win anything, the competition was a great experience. I guess it improved my skills and made me aware of what I can improve on, technique wise and gear wise. Some of the winning entries were really great and I congratulate these winners. Hope they enjoy the Turkey photo clinic.
